Siyandza Skill Development

4 Step Implementation

Siyandza clearly defines four segments as part of the implementation phase. These four steps ensure that important assessments do not fall away.

Siyandza has a three phase methodology approach:

1. Discovery:
The necessary phase to identify the specific needs, before creating true outcomes programs. Read more about the Discovery phase

2. Development:
Specific training program is developed aligned with outcomes based education principles. Read more about the Development phase

3. Implementation: The Implementation Phase consists of 3 key segments: Training, Assessment, and Learner Support.

Siyandza Methodology: Implementation Phase

The Implementation Phase consists of 4 key segments:
  • Training
  • Formative assessment
  • Summative assessment
  • Learner support

Training

The training phase consists of technical, product, process, and/or leadership training delivery to all user groups. This ensures that the defined outcomes per group are achieved and that the user is supportive of the training. During the training, training registers are kept to track who has attended the training. Where required, notes are taken to identify any problem areas or risks that may need to be addressed for successful implementation of the training.

Formative Assessment

Formative assessments are given to learners during and directly after the training takes place. These assessments validate if the learner has taken up the development training delivered and can display the desired outcomes. In addition, these assessments determine if a user passes the course and is competent to display the skills. For those learners that do not pass the formative assessments, the trainer will schedule additional training sessions for the learner(s) to ensure that the outcomes are achieved (as required depending on client requirements).

Summative Assessment

The summative assessments take place after the training has been completed. During this assessment, the trainer will go back into the environment and assess the user group to ensure that the training outcomes are being displayed, as well as identifying any gaps that may exist and to ensure that these existing gaps are closed. During this phase, the trainer will also identify any other challenges so that feedback and action plans can be determined.

Learner Support

After the training is complete, learners will have access to various forms of ongoing support (telephone, email, follow up meetings) should any questions or challenges arise. The learner support is determined during the project implementation and is used as required.
